The color
White Oak Storm is a deep, smoky brown with a gray cast, stained into White Oak so the grain stays visible. The satin sheen keeps reflections soft.
In north light it cools toward charcoal and the gray comes forward. South light warms it to a dark umber. Under warm LEDs it deepens toward espresso. To keep some of the gray, specify 3000K over 2700K.
What to pair it with
Honed white or cream stone keeps the contrast clean: a Calacatta-style marble, pale quartzite, or limestone. Unlacquered brass warms the finish, while blackened steel or aged nickel keeps it sober.
Keep the floor lighter. Natural wide-plank oak or pale terrazzo lets the cabinets read as a deliberate dark.
Where it works
Bond, in slab, suits lofts and new condominiums. Montague and Lenox, both applied-molding, sit comfortably in prewar co-ops. Henry Street's beading belongs in a brownstone or a Long Island Colonial, and Clinton Wide and Fifth Avenue suit larger North Shore kitchens. Compare door styles or browse the TKG Inset collection.
Care and durability
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and a little mild soap, then dry. Skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners. Dry standing water near the sink and dishwasher promptly.
This is a stain on real oak, so grain and tone vary from door to door. The satin sheen also hides fingerprints better than gloss. See more finishes or contact us for a sample.
