The color

Rift White Oak is a medium wood with a quiet, linear grain. The satin sheen keeps the surface reading as wood rather than as a coating.

In north light it cools to a soft, grayed tan. South light pulls out the honey in the undertone. Under warm LEDs it deepens toward amber. At 3000K it stays balanced, and at 2700K it turns distinctly golden.

What to pair it with

Honed white quartzite or soapstone lets the grain lead. A pale terrazzo adds contrast without competing.

Unlacquered brass will warm the oak further. Brushed nickel or blackened steel keeps it grounded and cooler.

For floors, pale limestone works well, as does a wide plank stained darker than the cabinets. Avoid matching oak to oak. Step lighter or darker so the cabinetry stays distinct.

Where it works

Prewar co-ops with north-facing kitchens gain warmth without losing calm. Brownstone parlor floors, Long Island colonials and renovated ranches all have the light and proportions to carry it.

It comes on most door styles and is part of our inset collection. See it alongside our other finishes, or contact us to review a sample in your own light.

Care and durability

Wipe with a soft damp cloth, then dry. Use mild soap only, and no abrasive pads.

As a veneer, it dislikes standing water. Keep the sink base and door edges dry, and vent steam from kettles and dishwashers. The satin sheen is forgiving of fingerprints and daily use.
