The color
Rift Cut White Oak Moss is a satin stain in the medium wood family. The tone sits between honey and walnut, with a green-olive undertone that keeps it from turning orange. The grain runs straight and close, so large runs of cabinetry look calm.
In north light, the finish cools and leans olive-grey. South light draws out the brown and a little gold. Under warm LEDs the green recedes and the wood glows amber.
What to pair it with
Honed white marble or quartzite keeps the wood from feeling heavy. Soapstone gives a deeper, quieter contrast.
Unlacquered brass will warm the olive. Blackened steel sharpens it, and aged nickel keeps it soft.
Skip matching wood floors. Honed limestone or a terrazzo with warm grey chips lets the cabinetry stand apart.
Where it works
In prewar apartments and brownstones, Henry Street (beaded) and Gramercy Bevel (applied-molding) suit the architecture. In lofts and newer condos, the slab doors Perry Metal and Vanderbilt keep it spare. On Long Island, Astor and Riverside, both raised-panel, fit colonials and larger family kitchens.

Care
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry right away. Use mild soap only, with no abrasive pads or harsh cleaners. Wipe splashes promptly near the sink and range.
Wood moves with humidity, and tone varies slightly from door to door. That is part of a stained finish. For samples, contact us.
