The color in three lights
Weathered Timber is a medium wood tone in matte laminate. The brown is softened, the grain is quiet, and nothing glosses over it.
In north light, common in brownstones and north-facing apartments, it cools to a muted, slightly gray brown. In south light it warms toward honey and shows more grain. Under warm LEDs it deepens to amber, so test it at your bulb's color temperature.
What to pair it with
Choose white quartz with soft gray veining, or a honed black stone, for counters. Brushed brass and aged bronze pulls pick up the warmth. Blackened steel sharpens it.
Underfoot, wide-plank white oak in a pale natural finish keeps the room light. Avoid a floor close to the cabinet tone, which flattens both.
Where it suits
It settles well into prewar co-ops and brownstones, beside original millwork. On Long Island, it anchors open-plan kitchens in colonials and renovated ranches.
Choose from Wooster Slab, Wooster Slim or Wooster Shaker within TKG Inset. Slab reads modern, Shaker traditional, and Slim sits between.
Care and durability
Laminate is a practical surface for working kitchens. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, and dry edges and seams. Skip abrasive pads and solvent cleaners, which can dull a matte surface.
Keep steam and direct heat, from kettles or a dishwasher vent, away from door faces. Compare samples on our finishes page or contact the studio.
