The color in changing light
Metro Oak is a medium wood tone with a matte face, so nothing flattens the grain. In north light it cools slightly and settles into a soft, even brown. In south light it warms toward honey and looks more open.
Under warm LEDs the amber comes forward and evenings read richer, closer to toasted oak. Check a sample under your actual bulbs.
What to pair it with
Keep counters quiet. Honed white marble or a warm off-white quartz lets the wood lead, while dark soapstone adds contrast.
Brushed brass and aged bronze deepen the warmth. Blackened steel or stainless gives it a sharper edge.
For floors, go a step lighter or darker rather than matching: pale ash, or a deep walnut stain.
Where it works in New York and Long Island
Brownstones and pre-war apartments with limited daylight suit this finish, since its warmth balances cooler light. It also works in south-facing Long Island kitchens with open sightlines.
On Lispenard Frame it suits townhouses. On Lispenard Slab it suits lofts and newer condos. Explore TKG Inset and door styles.
Care and durability
Laminate is uniform and resists daily wear. Wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and mild soap, then dry the edges.
Avoid abrasive pads and standing water at seams. Keep heat-producing appliances clear of the doors. Compare more options in finishes, or contact us for a sample.
