The color in three lights
Deep Ridge is a dark wood laminate with a matte sheen. The brown leans toward espresso, and the grain keeps it reading as wood rather than paint.
In north light, common in Manhattan apartments facing streets or airshafts, it cools and settles close to charcoal-brown. In south light, typical of Miami and Long Island rear additions, the warmth comes forward and the brown opens up. Under warm LEDs at 2700K to 3000K, it turns richer and slightly redder.
What to pair it with
Choose honed white quartzite or a pale limestone-look counter for contrast. Brushed brass suits the warm undertone, and satin nickel keeps it cooler and more restrained.
For floors, wide-plank white oak in a natural finish works well. Pale terrazzo does too. Avoid floors close to the cabinet depth, which flattens the room. Warm white walls keep the dark fronts from feeling heavy.
Where it suits
In prewar co-ops and brownstones, use it on a single wall of tall cabinets and keep the rest light. On Long Island, it anchors open-plan Colonials and mid-century ranches as an island or a full run.
It comes on Wooster Slim, Wooster Slab, and Wooster Shaker in the TKG Inset collection. Compare profiles on our door styles page.
Care and durability
Laminate is a nonporous surface. Wipe it with a damp microfiber cloth and mild soap, then dry it. Skip abrasive pads and solvents.
A matte sheen can show oils where hands land most, so wipe those spots regularly. Keep edges dry near the sink and dishwasher, and move heat-producing appliances away from the fronts.
