Color and light
Hard Maple Mocha is a dark wood stain with a satin sheen. The brown is rich and slightly warm, and the fine grain of maple stays visible through it.
In north light it settles toward espresso, quiet and even. In south light it opens to chestnut, with a hint of red in the grain. Under warm LEDs the tone deepens and amber rises, so a 2700K under-cabinet strip makes the doors glow rather than flatten.
What to pair it with
Honed white marble or a warm white quartz gives dark doors clean contrast. Soapstone keeps the room low and moody. For metals, choose unlacquered brass or aged bronze; both echo the warmth. Keep floors lighter, such as natural white oak or honed limestone, so the room doesn't go heavy.
Rooms and doors
It suits brownstone kitchens and prewar co-ops, where existing trim already runs dark, and Long Island colonials that want a grounded kitchen. It comes on Diamond Lite, Henry Street, Riverside, Perry, Chelsea and Fifth Avenue doors within TKG Inset. Browse the door styles to match profile to architecture.
Care and durability
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry right away. Use mild soap, never abrasive cleaners, and keep standing water off door edges near the sink and dishwasher. Satin hides fingerprints better than gloss. As a stain, it lets the wood's natural variation show, so no two doors read identical. Compare it with other finishes, or talk to us about seeing it in your kitchen's light.
