The color
Rift Cut White Oak Frost is a light wood tone. The stain lightens the oak without covering it, so the tight, straight grain stays visible and the doors read calm.
In north light it cools to a pale, gray-leaning beige. In south light it warms toward soft sand. Under warm LEDs it turns creamy, closer to wheat. Judge it in your own room, at the hours you cook.
What to pair it with
Honed white marble or a soft-veined quartzite keeps the palette light. Soapstone or a dark honed granite gives the pale oak a firm edge.
Brushed nickel and aged brass both suit it. Blackened steel adds contrast without competing.
For floors, choose wide-plank oak in a similar or slightly deeper tone, or honed limestone. Avoid orange-leaning floors, which pull the finish out of balance.
Where it fits
Frost suits north-facing brownstone and prewar co-op kitchens, where it brightens without turning stark. It sits well on Park Slope raised-panel doors in a Brooklyn townhouse, and on Mercer Wide slab doors in a Manhattan loft or condo.
On Long Island, the beaded doors, Shelter Island, Prospect and Cold Spring II, fit shingled and farmhouse-style homes. Gramercy adds applied molding for more formal rooms. Browse door styles or the full TKG Inset collection.
Care and durability
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry right away. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners. Wipe up water around the sink and range promptly.
Because this is a stain, grain and tone vary from door to door. That variation is the character of the oak, not a flaw. See more in finishes, or contact us for a sample.
