The color in three lights
Aspen is a light wood in matte laminate, calm rather than showy. In north light it reads cool and soft, close to pale ash. South light pulls it toward straw and honey, and the grain eases into view by afternoon.
Under warm LEDs it turns creamier. At 2700K expect the most amber. At 3000K it settles into a cleaner blond.
What to pair it with
Honed white quartzite or pale terrazzo suits the counters. Charcoal soapstone gives contrast. Brushed stainless, unlacquered brass and blackened steel all sit well against the wood tone.
For floors, white oak in a similar or slightly deeper shade keeps the room quiet. Gray-veined stone tile cools it. Skip red-toned floors, which fight the blond.
Where it fits
Prewar apartments with north-facing galley kitchens gain warmth without losing brightness. Brownstone kitchens, Long Island ranches and split-levels, and compact condo plans suit it equally well.
It is offered on Strata within TKG Inset, on the Lispenard Slab and Lispenard Frame doors. Browse all door styles.
Care and durability
Laminate is a practical surface. Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and mild soap. The matte sheen keeps fingerprints quiet.
Avoid abrasive pads, dry edges near the sink promptly, and keep hot pans off the surface. Compare other finishes or talk to the studio about your kitchen.
