The color
Light Timber is a light wood laminate with a flat matte surface. The base is pale oat, the undertone is honey, and the grain is fine and straight.
In north light it cools and settles, and the grain recedes into a calm, even field. In south light the honey comes forward and the grain becomes easier to read. Under warm LEDs at 2700K the tone moves toward straw. At 3000K it stays balanced.
What to pair it with
Honed white quartzite or soapstone-look charcoal counters both hold their own against the soft wood tone. Brushed brass and blackened steel suit the warmth, and satin nickel keeps things cooler.
For floors, choose contrast over match. Dark-stained oak or honed limestone tile will separate the cabinetry from the floor, where pale oak would blur into it.
Where it works
It suits prewar galley kitchens in Manhattan and Brooklyn, where it brightens a north-facing room without turning stark. It also works in Long Island ranches and split-levels with sunny rear additions, where the warmth can stay gentle.
It comes on Wooster Slab, Wooster Slim and Wooster Shaker doors in the TKG Inset collection. Compare profiles under door styles, see other options in finishes, or contact us for a sample.
Care and durability
Laminate is a practical surface. Wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and mild soap, then dry. Skip abrasive pads and solvents, which can mar a matte finish. Keep hot pans and steam away from door edges, and wipe spills near the sink promptly.
