A quiet gray with a warm edge
Pebble is a satin gray paint on Paint Grade Maple. It sits in the middle of the range, neither pale nor moody, with enough warmth to keep it from going cold.
In north light, the gray comes forward and reads cooler, close to stone. In south light it relaxes and drifts toward greige. Under warm LEDs it softens further, leaning toward taupe, so judge it at the color temperature you plan to use.
What to pair it with
Honed Carrara or a white quartz with soft veining keeps the palette calm. Soapstone makes the gray deeper and more graphic.
Unlacquered brass warms it. Brushed nickel keeps it crisp. For floors, natural white oak in a wide plank is the easy match, and honed limestone suits a cooler, quieter room.
Where it belongs
Prewar co-ops, brownstone floor-throughs, Long Island colonials and ranches all take this gray well. It is neutral enough to sit beside original trim and plaster without competing.
Slab doors (Ludlow 3, Mott, Bleecker, Mercer) suit lofts and newer condos. Chelsea, with its bead, and Astor, a raised panel, suit older apartments and traditional houses. See all door styles or the full TKG Inset collection.
Care and durability
Painted maple wants gentle handling. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Skip abrasive pads and harsh solvents. Wipe splashes near the sink and range promptly.
Satin is more forgiving of fingerprints than gloss. Compare it with our other finishes, or contact us for a sample.
