The color
Harbor Mist is a satin gray with a cool, faintly blue-green undertone, the color of water just before weather.
In north light it leans cooler and deeper, closer to slate fog. In south light it lightens and warms toward dove. Under warm LEDs the blue recedes and the gray settles into something softer and more neutral.
What to pair it with
Honed white marble or quartzite with soft gray veining keeps the palette quiet. Walnut butcher block adds warmth. Unlacquered brass and aged bronze hardware warm the cool tone, while polished nickel sharpens it.
For floors, wide-plank white oak in a natural finish works well, as does pale limestone or terrazzo in Miami.
Where it works
This finish is painted on Paint Grade Maple and is part of TKG Inset. Slab doors like Mott and Crosby suit Manhattan condos and Miami apartments. Montague and Union, with applied molding, fit prewar co-ops and brownstones. Chelsea and Shelter Island, both beaded, belong in Long Island houses, especially near the water. Compare profiles in door styles.
Care and durability
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Skip abrasive pads and harsh sprays.
Painted solid wood moves with the seasons, so fine hairlines at the joints are normal. Chips can be touched up. Contact us for guidance, or see more finishes.
