The color

Dusk is a mid-tone gray with a quiet blue note underneath. In north light it deepens toward slate. In south light it relaxes into a softer, more open gray.

Under warm LEDs the blue recedes and the color reads close to neutral. The satin sheen catches light along door edges, so applied-molding profiles show more shadow than slab fronts.

What to pair it with

Choose white marble with soft gray veining, or a honed quartzite. Avoid creamy, yellow-leaning stone, which makes the gray look cold.

Brushed nickel and unlacquered brass both work. Blackened steel suits the slab doors.

For floors, natural white oak with a matte finish warms the cabinetry. Honed limestone keeps the room quieter.

Where it works

It suits north-facing prewar kitchens that need depth, and brownstone parlor floors where Union or Lenox echo the original millwork. In lofts and newer condos, Bleecker, Crosby and Mott keep the lines clean.

On Long Island, Clinton Wide fits colonials and split-levels, especially rear additions with strong southern exposure. See every profile under door styles or browse the TKG Inset collection.

Care and durability

This is a painted finish on paint grade maple. Satin hides fingerprints better than gloss.

Wipe with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Skip abrasive pads and ammonia cleaners. Dry standing water near the sink and dishwasher promptly.

Painted surfaces can be touched up if needed. Compare other options in finishes or contact us for samples.
