The Color

Fog is a mid-light gray with a slightly cool cast. It sits between stone and pewter, quiet enough to stay in the background.

In north light it reads cooler and more mineral. South light warms it toward a soft, neutral gray. Under warm LEDs the cool edge relaxes and the color leans greige, so choose 3000K bulbs if you want to hold onto some of that coolness.

What to Pair It With

Honed white marble or a warm-veined quartzite makes a calm counter. Soapstone gives a darker, matte contrast.

Unlacquered brass and aged bronze add warmth against the gray. Brushed nickel keeps it crisp.

For floors, try wide-plank white oak, honed limestone, or dark slate.

Where It Works

This gray suits north-facing prewar kitchens, brownstone parlor floors, and compact apartment layouts where you want calm rather than contrast. On Long Island it holds up in colonials and split-levels with larger windows.

It comes on Montague, Columbus, Gramercy, and Gramercy Bevel in applied-molding profiles. It also comes on Perry Metal in slab and Astor in raised-panel. Browse the door styles or the full TKG Inset collection.

Care and Durability

Painted maple has a smooth, closed surface. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Skip abrasive pads and ammonia-based cleaners.

Satin hides fingerprints better than gloss. Edges take the most wear, and paint can be touched up. See more finishes or contact us.
