The color
This is a medium wood tone with an amber-brown body and a red undertone, close to aged whiskey in a glass. The stain is translucent, so Alder's fine grain stays visible under a satin sheen.
In north light the tone deepens and cools toward a rich brown. In south light it opens to honey and copper. Under warm LEDs the red undertone comes forward and the run looks fuller. At 3000K it stays more neutral.
What to pair it with
Honed white marble or gray-veined quartzite keeps the wood from feeling heavy. Soapstone gives a darker, matte contrast.
Unlacquered brass and aged bronze extend the warmth. Blackened steel sharpens it. For floors, choose pale wide-plank oak, limestone or honed terrazzo. Avoid floors with strong red tones, which compete with the undertone.
Where it suits
Beaded doors like Cold Spring and Henry Street fit prewar apartments and Brooklyn brownstones. Fifth Avenue, a raised-panel door, suits traditional rooms. Clinton, a shaker, works in Long Island family kitchens. Bond and Perry Wide, both slab, give lofts and newer condos a warm, plain surface.

Care and durability
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry right away. Use mild soap and skip abrasive pads. Keep standing water off base cabinets near the sink and dishwasher.
Wood moves with humidity, and the color will deepen slightly over time with light. Check the finishes in your own room, or contact us for a sample.
