The color in three kinds of light

Smoked Oak is a light wood with a quiet gray-taupe undertone. The grain stays visible and the satin sheen stays low.

In north light it cools and leans pale, close to driftwood. In south light the taupe warms toward sand and the grain deepens. Under warm LEDs near 2700K it picks up a soft honey cast, so settle your bulbs before you settle your counter.

What to pair it with

Honed Carrara or a white quartzite keeps the palette calm. Soapstone makes it graphic.

Brushed brass and unlacquered bronze lean into the warmth. Blackened steel or satin nickel sharpens it. For floors, try matte white oak planks or honed limestone, and avoid orange-leaning reds.

Where it belongs

It suits prewar co-ops with north-facing kitchens, brownstone parlor floors, and open-plan Long Island colonials and ranches. It comes on most door styles in TKG Inset, so you can keep the finish and change the profile. Browse door styles or compare other finishes.

Care and durability

Veneer is real wood, and it rewards simple habits. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry the surface afterward. Use a mild, pH-neutral cleaner, and skip abrasive pads.

Keep standing water away from the sink edge, and vent dishwasher steam. The satin sheen hides fingerprints better than gloss. Expect the oak to mellow slightly with light. Questions about a specific room? Contact us.
