How the color reads

Rift Cut White Oak Natural is a satin stain that leaves the wood in front. The tone is a light, clear tan with a golden-beige undertone. The grain runs in fine, straight lines.

In north light, the tone cools slightly and the grain softens toward pale oatmeal. In south light, it warms and the honey in the wood comes forward. Under warm LEDs it leans amber, so sample it at your actual bulb temperature.

What to pair it with

Honed marble, soapstone, or a matte warm-white quartz keep the counters quiet. Unlacquered brass and aged bronze deepen the warmth. Blackened steel adds contrast.

For floors, try pale limestone, terrazzo, or a darker walnut-toned plank. Avoid matching the oak exactly.

Where it suits

It works in prewar Manhattan apartments, Brooklyn townhouses, Long Island houses, and Miami condos where you want warmth without pattern. Choose beaded Henry Street, Chelsea, Cold Spring, or Sag Harbor for a traditional look. Lenox brings applied molding, and Bleecker's slab front is the most modern option. Care and durability

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry right away. Use mild soap only, never abrasives. Clear splashes near the sink and range promptly. Satin hides fingerprints better than gloss.

Grain varies from door to door, which is part of the finish. Compare it with others in finishes, or contact us for a sample.
