The color
Hard Maple Toffee is a golden-amber stain with a satin sheen. It tints the wood without hiding it, so the fine, even grain stays visible.
In north light it cools toward honey and reads calm and slightly muted. In south light it deepens to caramel, with a hint of red by late afternoon. Under warm LEDs near 2700K it leans amber, and at 3000K it stays closer to honey.
What to pair it with
Honed white quartzite or a softly veined marble keeps the wood from feeling heavy. For contrast, try soapstone or a honed charcoal granite.
Unlacquered brass and aged bronze deepen the warmth, while blackened steel sharpens it. For floors, use matte white oak a shade lighter, or black-and-cream tile.
Where it suits
It works well in prewar Manhattan kitchens that need warmth, Brooklyn brownstone floors, and Long Island colonials and split-levels with bright rear additions.
It is offered in TKG Inset on Gramercy Bevel, Remsen Wide, Riverside, Irving, Crosby and Gowanus. Gramercy Bevel, Riverside and Irving suit older rooms, and Crosby and Gowanus suit cleaner, newer plans. See all door styles.
Care and durability
A stain colors the wood and leaves its natural texture. The satin sheen hides fingerprints better than gloss.
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry right away. Keep standing water off the doors near the sink and dishwasher. Wood shifts gently in tone with light, and slight variation from door to door is normal.
