The color

Cascade Pine is a medium wood with a soft honeyed undertone and a quiet, even grain. The matte sheen keeps it calm.

In north light, it settles into a muted tan-brown. In south light, it opens up and shows amber by midday. Under warm LEDs at 2700K, it deepens toward gold. At 3000K, it reads closer to its true tone.

What to pair it with

Honed white quartzite or a quartz with a faint grey vein keeps the wood from feeling heavy. Charcoal soapstone gives a darker contrast.

Unlacquered brass will warm the whole run. Satin nickel or blackened steel cools it down.

Wide-plank white oak in a natural finish works underfoot, as does honed grey limestone. Skip red-toned floors, which fight the honey undertone.

Where it works

It suits prewar co-op galleys, brownstone parlor-floor kitchens, and Long Island colonials with a bright rear addition. It also holds up in Miami apartments with strong southern exposure.

Choose Lispenard Frame for a shaker profile or Lispenard Slab for a flat, modern face. See the full TKG Inset collection or compare door styles.

Care and durability

Laminate is a practical finish for working kitchens. Wipe with a damp microfiber cloth and mild soap, and avoid abrasive pads. Keep steam and standing water away from door edges, and don't rest hot pans against the face.
