The color in three lights
Sky is a soft, clear blue with a quiet gray undertone, applied as an opaque satin paint over Paint Grade Maple. The grain stays out of sight. What you see is color and the shadow lines of the door.
In north light it cools and settles toward gray-blue. In south light it opens up and reads brighter and more plainly blue. Under warm LEDs it softens, losing its chill and moving toward a dusty powder blue. Sample it in your own room.
What to pair it with
Honed white marble or a quartzite with soft gray veining keeps the palette light. Soapstone gives deeper contrast. Unlacquered brass warms the blue, while polished nickel keeps it crisp. On the floor, try wide-plank white oak in a natural tone or warm white hex tile.
Where it fits
It suits prewar apartment kitchens, brownstone parlor floors and Long Island colonials. Oyster Bay and Henry Street are beaded. Morningside, Gramercy, Union and Columbus carry applied molding. Browse door styles or the full TKG Inset collection.
Care and durability
Wipe satin paint with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, then dry it. Avoid abrasive pads. Keep standing water off doors near the sink and dishwasher. Painted maple moves slightly with the seasons, so a hairline at a joint is normal and can be touched up. See other finishes or contact us for a sample.
