The color in changing light

Atlantic is a deep, settled blue with a trace of gray-green underneath. It reads as a color first and a neutral second.

In north light it cools toward slate and ink, and the green recedes. In south light it opens up, clearer and more saturated as the afternoon goes on. Under warm LEDs it deepens toward navy, and the satin sheen catches soft highlights along edges and moldings.

What to pair it with

Honed white marble or a quiet quartzite keeps the blue crisp. Soapstone makes the room moodier. Unlacquered brass warms the color, while polished nickel keeps it cool and precise. Underfoot, wide-plank white oak or matte limestone tile both hold their own.

Let the door set the tone. Bleecker and Crosby are slab and restrained. Gramercy Bevel, Sutton and Columbus carry applied molding, and Cold Spring II adds a bead. Compare them all in door styles.

Where it suits

A north-facing galley in a prewar apartment can carry this much color, and the depth gives a small room some structure. It also suits brownstone kitchens, Long Island colonials, and coastal homes with strong southern light. It sits within TKG Inset.

Care and durability

This is a painted satin finish on Paint Grade Maple, with a smooth, even surface. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Avoid abrasive cleaners.

Edges near the range and sink show wear first, and touch-up is straightforward. Browse other finishes or contact us for a sample.
