The color in three lights
Atlantic Crackle is a blue with age in it. The finish is satin and textured, laid over paint grade maple, and the fine crackle keeps the color from reading as a flat panel.
In north light the blue cools and deepens toward slate. In south light it warms and lifts, and the crackle lines catch small shadows. Under warm LEDs it softens toward a grayer, quieter tone. Check a sample at the hour you cook.
What to pair it with
Honed white marble or soapstone counters let the texture lead. Unlacquered brass or aged nickel hardware suits the gray-green undertone. Polished chrome can feel too sharp against it.
For floors, choose wide-plank white oak or pale limestone. Skip glossy tile, since the satin sheen already gives the room enough reflection.
Where it fits
This finish suits prewar Manhattan apartments and Brooklyn brownstones, where plaster walls and old millwork welcome texture. On Long Island it sits well in shingled shore houses and center-hall colonials.
It comes on Astor and Riverside (raised-panel), Sutton and Union (applied-molding), Cold Spring II (beaded), and Remsen (shaker). Browse TKG Inset or compare door styles.
Care and durability
Textured finishes ask for slightly different habits. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth, then dry. A soft brush clears dust from the crackle lines.
Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which can dull the satin sheen. Maple is a dense hardwood, so the doors hold up well to daily use. To see the finish in person, request a sample or contact us.
