The color
Lace sits between a stark gallery white and a cream. The undertone is soft and slightly warm, which keeps it calm in rooms that change through the day.
In north light it cools and settles into a quiet white with a faint gray edge. In south light it warms and brightens, drifting toward ivory by late afternoon. Under warm LEDs it moves closer to cream, so we recommend testing it at the bulb temperature you plan to use.
The satin sheen catches light across the door without glare.
What to pair it with
For counters, honed Carrara or soapstone keeps the palette quiet. Walnut butcher block on an island adds warmth.
Unlacquered brass will patina against the white. Polished nickel stays cooler and cleaner. Blackened steel gives the sharpest contrast.
Wide-plank white oak is a natural floor. A black-and-white hex tile or slate gives a prewar feel.
Where it suits
It works in Brooklyn brownstones, prewar co-ops, and Manhattan apartments where light is limited, as well as Long Island houses with shingle and cottage detailing.
It comes on Park Slope (raised-panel), Remsen Wide and Clinton (shaker), Morningside and Montague (applied-molding), and Shelter Island (beaded). Browse the TKG Inset collection or compare door styles.
Care and durability
This is a painted finish on Paint Grade Maple. Wipe it with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, then dry it. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents.
Wipe spills promptly near the range and sink. Painted surfaces can chip under hard impact, and touch-ups are straightforward. Request a sample from our finishes or contact the studio.
