A black with texture
Ink Crackle is a satin black with a fine crackle texture, applied to Paint Grade Maple. It reads as a soft black, not a flat one.
In north light it cools toward graphite, and the crackle shows as faint variation across each door. In south light the satin sheen warms and the surface settles closer to true black. Under warm LEDs it deepens, and the texture throws small shadows.
What to pair it with
Honed white marble or pale limestone gives the cleanest contrast. Soapstone keeps the room dark and quiet.
Unlacquered brass and aged bronze warm the black, while polished nickel sharpens it. For floors, choose wide-plank white oak in a natural finish, or honed limestone tile.
Where it fits
In brownstone and prewar kitchens, Cold Spring II or Gramercy suits the architecture. Remsen Wide shaker works in lofts and in Long Island renovations where the lines are plainer. Astor, Montague and Gramercy Bevel offer more detail.

Care and durability
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry the surface. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which can dull the satin sheen. A soft brush clears dust from the texture.
