The color in changing light
Cherry Honey is a satin stain on cherry: a mid-tone amber with a soft red undertone beneath it. The grain stays open and visible, so each door reads as wood, not paint.
In a north-facing room, the color settles into a calm, brown-leaning amber. In south light it warms toward honey and shows more of the red in the cherry. Under warm LEDs, 2700K pushes it toward copper, while 3000K keeps it closer to honey.
What to pair it with
Honed white quartzite or soft-veined marble keeps the wood from feeling heavy. Soapstone goes the other way, deep and matte, and suits the red undertone well.
Unlacquered brass and aged bronze echo the warmth. Blackened steel adds contrast. For floors, choose pale matte white oak, or a honed gray limestone to cool the room.
Where it fits
This finish suits prewar apartments, brownstones, and Long Island colonials, where plaster and trim already carry warmth.
Astor and Irving (raised-panel) and Columbus (applied-molding) lean traditional. Remsen Wide and Clinton (shaker) sit in between. Gowanus (slab) brings a wood tone to a modern plan. Explore the TKG Inset collection, compare door styles, or see more finishes.
Care and durability
A satin stain hides daily wear better than a high-gloss surface. Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry right away, especially near the sink and dishwasher.
Skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners. Cherry deepens gently with light over the years, so expect the tone to richen slowly. Questions about samples? Contact us.
