Vanderbilt in every finish
The door
Vanderbilt is the slab door in our TKG Inset collection: framed, inset and finished to furniture standards. The center panel is flat, with no raised field and no applied molding. The one line you see is the reveal where door meets frame.
In a room it reads as calm and architectural. The inset gives it depth and a thin shadow, and the flat panel keeps it quiet. Full overlay is also available for a more continuous face.
Where it works in New York and beyond
Pre-war apartments with strong plaster and heavy casings welcome a flat door as counterpoint. In a brownstone, it sits beside original millwork without competing with it.
Lofts and new-build condos, with their long runs and large glass, suit it for the same reason: a full wall of cabinetry stays orderly. On Long Island and in Miami, it fits transitional houses that want clean lines without feeling cold.
Choosing a finish
The door comes in Paint Grade Maple, White Oak, Rift Cut White Oak, Quarter Sawn White Oak, Cherry, Hard Maple, Walnut and Red Oak, with 87 finishes to choose from.
For paint, Sage, Marine and Lace cover green, blue and white. For wood, Hard Maple Navy and Rift Cut White Oak Umber run dark, while Hard Maple Driftwood and White Oak Driftwood stay light. Ink Distressed gives you black with texture.
Practical notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry straight away. On a slab door the grain is the only ornament, so choose the species with that in mind. Maple takes paint smoothly, while oak lets its grain show through stain.
Hardware should be simple: a slim bar pull, a small knob or a finger pull. Anything ornate fights the flat panel.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Compare other profiles under door styles, or contact us to see a sample.
