Sag Harbor in every finish
The door
Sag Harbor is a beaded inset door in rift cut white oak, part of TKG Inset: framed, furniture-grade cabinetry. A fine bead runs along the inside edge of the frame and catches light where door meets opening. The center panel is flat and recessed, so the face stays calm.
Rift cut oak runs its grain in tight, straight lines, without the cathedral arches of plainsawn boards. On a door, that reads as tailored. The bead supplies the traditional detail, and the flat panel keeps it from feeling fussy. Full overlay is available if you want a more continuous face.
Where it works
It suits transitional and traditional rooms. In a pre-war apartment, it sits comfortably beside plaster walls and original millwork. In a brownstone, it respects the parlor-floor proportions without copying period detail. In a loft, a darker stain gives brick and steel something warm to push against. In a new build, the bead adds the detail the drywall can't.
Choosing a finish
All 17 finishes are stains, so the grain stays visible. Frost, Smoke, Snow and Ash are the light wood tones. Chestnut is the medium. Storm, Charcoal and Black Coffee are the dark ones. Light tones show the straight grain most clearly, while the darker stains turn it into fine linear texture. Compare them in person on the finishes page or see how the door sits among its sister profiles.
Practical notes
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry right away, especially near the sink and range. Because the finishes are stains rather than paint, the grain shows through and no two doors match exactly. That variation is the point.
For hardware, keep it modest. Slim bar pulls or small knobs let the bead stay in focus.
