The Door Itself
Chelsea is a beaded door from TKG Inset. It is a framed, furniture-grade inset with a fine bead tracing the inside edge of the frame and a flat recessed center panel.
The bead catches light and leaves a soft shadow line. The flat panel keeps the face calm. In a room it reads as joinery, closer to a built sideboard than a wall of boxes.
Choose flush inset, beaded inset, or full overlay, depending on the reveal you want. Species run from Paint Grade Maple to Walnut, Cherry, Alder, Red Birch, Red Oak, and three cuts of White Oak.
Where It Works
It suits transitional and traditional rooms. In a pre-war apartment, it sits easily beside plaster moldings and original casings. In a brownstone, a beaded inset run respects the parlor-floor proportions and the period detail around them.
On Long Island, it fits a center-hall colonial kitchen. In a loft or new build, it adds warmth and a sense of craft against concrete, steel windows, or a plain envelope.
Choosing a Finish
There are 95 finishes. A few worth starting with:
- Linen, Dusk, Silver: quiet painted tones, from off-white to two grays.
- Atlantic Crackle: a textured blue, best on an island or pantry.
- Gallery White Distressed: a worn white with surface character.
- Walnut Bourbon, Hard Maple Navy, Quarter Sawn White Oak Natural: stains from medium wood to dark to natural.

Practical Notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. A soft brush clears dust from the bead.
Paint Grade Maple gives the smoothest painted surface. Oak is open-grained, so its grain shows through paint. Stained wood varies from board to board, so approve it from a sample.
For hardware, knobs and cup pulls suit the beaded frame. Keep the scale modest so the bead stays visible.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts from $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Compare other profiles under door styles, or contact us to request a sample.
