Mercer in every finish
A flat panel, built like furniture
Mercer is the quietest door in the TKG Inset collection. A slab center panel sits inside a frame, with no raised or routed detail on the panel. What you notice is material.
In a room it reads as calm and architectural. Painted, it becomes a clean plane of color. In wood, the grain carries the composition. Choose beaded inset, flush inset, or full overlay depending on how much shadow line and reveal you want at the door edge.
Where it works in New York and Long Island
Pre-war apartments often have plaster walls, heavy casings, and original moldings. A slab door gives that detail room to speak.
In a brownstone, it suits the parlor-floor kitchen and the garden-level renovation alike, particularly beside existing millwork. In a loft, long runs of rift cut white oak hold their own against brick and cast iron. In new builds on Long Island and in Miami, the door keeps glass, stone, and open plans from feeling busy.
Choosing a finish
Seventy-nine finishes are available. For color, Verdant (green) and Atlantic (blue) are saturated but steady on a flat door. Linen (off-white) and Sand (greige) stay quiet.
For wood, Cherry Wheat and Cherry Honey keep a natural, light-to-warm tone. Cherry Chestnut moves to a medium wood. Hard Maple Wheat is the lightest and most even of the group. Browse the full range on the finishes page.
Practical notes
A flat panel has no grooves to collect residue. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry the surface.
Paint grade maple takes paint smoothly. Rift cut white oak shows a straighter, more linear grain, and walnut and cherry show more variation from door to door. Slim bar pulls and simple knobs suit the door best, and a flush inset pairs well with the lowest-profile hardware.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. See other profiles in door styles, or contact us to see a sample.
