Park Slope in every finish
The door
This is a raised-panel door in a framed, inset build. The door sits flush inside the face frame with an even reveal around it, and the raised center panel gives the surface relief that shifts with the light.
In a room, Park Slope reads as furniture rather than casework. It is traditional in character and restrained enough for transitional kitchens. Full overlay is also available for a fuller, more continuous face. See the rest of the TKG Inset collection.
Where it works
Pre-war apartments and brownstones are the natural fit, where plaster walls, casings and picture rail already speak the same language. The door belongs in Long Island colonials and Tudors for the same reason.
In a new build, it adds the detail that drywall and recessed lighting do not. In a loft, a raised panel set against brick or steel gives the room a counterpoint. In Miami, a painted blue or green keeps a traditional kitchen from feeling heavy in bright light.
Choosing a finish
Six woods are offered: Paint Grade Maple, Rift Cut White Oak, Cherry, Hard Maple, Walnut and Red Oak. Of the 81 finishes, Ivy, Verdant and Marine are the paints to look at first.
For stain, Hard Maple Navy is dark and formal. Hard Maple Wheat is natural and calm. Hard Maple Bourbon and Red Oak Auburn run medium and warm, and Rift Cut White Oak Smoke is the lightest. Browse them all in finishes.
Practical notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth, then dry. A soft brush clears dust from the panel edges. Paint gives a uniform surface, while stain lets grain show: open on red oak, straight on rift cut oak, and more varied on cherry and walnut.
Knobs and simple bar or cup pulls suit the style, in brass, bronze or nickel. Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Compare other door styles or contact us.
