The door

A flat center panel, a quiet frame, and nothing else. Hudson is a slab door in MDF, part of our TKG Inset collection, where the door sits inside a furniture-grade frame instead of in front of it. The reveals become the detail: fine, even shadow lines that set the rhythm of the room.

In a kitchen it reads as calm and architectural. Full overlay is also available when you want one continuous face.

Where it works

Pre-war apartments with plaster walls and heavy crown molding do well with a plain door. It lets the architecture lead.

In a brownstone, a slab inset door in a deep paint gives a parlor-floor kitchen a modern counterpoint to the original millwork. In a loft, the full overlay version runs long, uninterrupted walls without visual noise. In a new build on Long Island or in Miami, it brings the craft that flat-front cabinetry often lacks.

It suits modern and transitional interiors equally well.

Choosing a finish

There are 31 finishes. Ink, Pebble and Fog cover black and gray. Cream and Dune are warm off-whites, and Sage is a muted green that works against stone and oak.

Chalk Crackle and Ink Crackle add texture. On a flat door the crackle is the only surface pattern, so keep everything around it quiet. See the full range in finishes.

Practical notes

MDF has no grain, so paint lays down smooth and even, and large flat panels match from door to door.

Clean with a soft damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Skip abrasive pads, especially on the textured finishes.

For hardware, slim bar pulls, finger pulls or small round knobs keep the lines clean. Brass and blackened metal both look right.

Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Compare other door styles or contact us to talk through your plans.
