The door

Diamond Lite is an inset mullion door with a glass center panel, part of the TKG Inset collection. It sits flush inside a framed cabinet, so the reveals stay tight and the face reads as furniture rather than casework.

The glass makes it a display door. In a room it suggests a china cabinet or a built-in, and it works best in uppers, where it breaks up a run of solid doors.

Where it works

Pre-war apartments and brownstones are the natural fit. Plaster walls, deep window casings, and tall ceilings can carry glass-fronted uppers, especially flanking a window or a range wall.

On Long Island, it suits colonials and Tudors where the kitchen should match the formality of the rest of the house. In a loft or a new build, use it sparingly. A few glazed doors set against plainer cabinetry add detail without fuss.

Choosing a finish

Diamond Lite is offered in hard maple, in 16 stains. Hard Maple Driftwood is the lightest. Caramel, Natural, and Toffee keep the wood bright and warm. Chestnut and Bourbon sit in the middle. Charcoal and Black Coffee are the darkest.

Lighter tones suit smaller or darker kitchens. Darker stains give a traditional room more weight and make the glass read crisply. Browse the full range on the finishes page, and ask for a sample door before you commit.

Practical notes

Maple has a fine, tight grain, and a stain lets that grain show rather than hiding it. Expect natural variation from door to door.

Wipe wood with a soft, damp cloth and dry it right away. Spray glass cleaner on the cloth, not on the door, so it stays out of the joints.

On inset doors, knobs and cup pulls look right, and so do slim latch pulls. Unlacquered brass, nickel, and blackened metals all work, depending on the stain.

Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Compare it with other profiles in door styles, or contact us to plan your kitchen.
