Cold Spring II in every finish
The door
The beaded family adds a small rounded detail where the frame meets the flat recessed center panel. It is a quiet line that catches light along the edge instead of announcing itself.
Cold Spring II is part of our TKG Inset collection: framed, furniture-grade, and available in full overlay or flush inset. In a room it reads as traditional with restraint. The flat panel keeps it from feeling ornate, and the bead keeps it from feeling plain.
Where it works in New York and Long Island
Pre-war apartments are a natural fit, especially where original crown, picture rail, or paneled doors already set the tone. In a brownstone, flush inset cabinetry sits well beside plaster moldings and deep window casings.
On Long Island, it suits colonials, Tudors, and shingle-style houses that want a kitchen with some history. In a new build, it gives a transitional plan character that drywall and flat slab doors cannot. In a loft, a deeper painted tone against brick or steel windows softens the room without fighting it.
Choosing a finish
The door is offered in Paint Grade Maple, Rift Cut White Oak, Hard Maple, and Walnut. For paint, Linen, Dove, and Chalk keep the bead crisp, and Dusk is a calm gray. For wood, Rift Cut White Oak comes in Moss, Wheat, and Storm, and Hard Maple has a Natural stain. Browse all 71 on the finishes page.
Practical notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry it. Avoid abrasive cleaners near the bead, where residue collects. Paint gives the smoothest, most uniform surface, while rift cut oak shows straight, linear grain that stays calm across a run.
Unlacquered brass knobs, cup pulls, and slim bin pulls suit the profile. Lead time is 10–14 weeks, with pricing from $1200/LF, cabinetry only. See the full TKG Inset collection, compare door styles, or contact us to request a sample.
