The door
Astor is the raised-panel door in the TKG Inset collection: framed, furniture-grade, and built to sit inside the cabinet opening rather than in front of it. The center panel rises from the frame, and light does the rest. It catches the edges in the morning and softens them by evening.
In a room, it reads as composed and traditional without being fussy. Choose flush inset for a precise reveal around every door, or full overlay for a more relaxed line. It comes in Cherry, Hard Maple, Rift Cut White Oak, Paint Grade Maple, and Walnut.
Where it works
It suits traditional and transitional kitchens, which covers a lot of New York.
In a pre-war apartment, it sits comfortably beside plaster walls and original casings. In a brownstone, it echoes the millwork already on the parlor floor. On Long Island and in Miami, it gives a classic house a classic kitchen without leaning on theme. In a new build, it adds architectural memory to a plain box of a room. Lofts are the harder case. Keep the surfaces around it quiet and consider Rift Cut White Oak to hold the look lean.
Choosing a finish
There are 79 finishes. A few that suit this door:
- Cherry Bourbon deepens cherry to a medium tone.
- Hard Maple Honey keeps maple natural, and Hard Maple Saddle takes it to a medium brown.
- Rift Cut White Oak Frost is light and calm. Charcoal is dark and graphic.
- Chalk is a clean white, Pearl a softer off-white, and Chalk Crackle adds texture.

Practical notes
Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry straight away, especially at the frame joints. A soft brush clears dust from the panel edges. Stained wood shows its grain, and boards vary, which is part of the appeal. Cherry deepens with light exposure. Paint Grade Maple takes paint evenly for a smooth, consistent surface.
For hardware, cup pulls and simple round knobs suit the door best. Let the profile carry the detail.
Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Lead time is 10–14 weeks. To start a layout, get in touch.
