Remsen Wide in every finish
The door
Remsen Wide is a shaker door with a flat recessed center panel, made for framed cabinets where the door sits level with the face frame. It belongs to TKG Inset, our furniture-grade inset collection.
You choose how it meets the frame. Flush inset gives a quiet, even line. Beaded inset adds a small shadow detail at the edge, closer to period joinery.
In a room it reads as composed rather than decorative. The flat panel keeps attention on grain or color, and the frame gives just enough structure.
Where it works
Transitional and traditional rooms are its home ground. In a pre-war apartment, it sits easily beside plaster moldings and original casings. In a brownstone, beaded inset in a painted finish suits the parlor-floor proportions and long cabinet runs.
On Long Island, it fits colonials and shingle-style houses that want a settled kitchen. In a new build, it adds the weight and detail that drywall and glass can lack. In a loft, a dark stained oak holds its own against brick and steel. In Miami, pale paint or natural oak keeps it light.
Choosing a finish
The door is offered in ten species, from Paint Grade Maple to Walnut, with 95 finishes in the finishes library. A few to start with:
- Chalk or Pebble for painted rooms, one white and one gray.
- White Oak Wheat or Rift Cut White Oak Wheat for natural wood. The rift cut keeps the grain straight and calm.
- Alder Caramel or Hard Maple Chestnut for warmer, medium tones.
- Rift Cut White Oak Umber for a dark, grounded kitchen.
Practical notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry right away. Painted flat panels clean easily. Stained wood shows natural variation in grain and tone from board to board, which is part of the appeal.
For hardware, simple knobs and cup pulls suit the flat panel. Beaded inset also takes a latch or a slim bar pull well.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Compare profiles in door styles, or contact us to see samples.
