Sutton in every finish
The Door
Applied molding frames a flat, recessed center panel. The molding gives the door a shadow line and a defined edge, and the flat field keeps the surface calm. In a room, it reads as traditional with the ornament pared back.
Sutton belongs to TKG Inset: framed, furniture-grade cabinetry, available full overlay or flush inset. Flush inset is the more architectural choice, with every reveal visible. Full overlay is quieter and more continuous.
Where It Works
Pre-war apartments with plaster walls, picture rail, and crown molding already have the vocabulary this door speaks. So do brownstone garden-level and parlor-floor kitchens, and the colonials and Tudors common across Long Island.
It also suits transitional new builds that need some warmth. In a loft, a rift cut oak version softens brick, steel, and concrete without fighting them.
Choosing a Finish
Rift Cut White Oak Thorn or Walnut Natural gives a dark, grounded kitchen. Rift Cut White Oak Chestnut is a medium tone, and White Oak Driftwood is the lightest of the stains.
For paint, Dune is an off-white, Sand a greige, and Sage a soft green. Chalk Crackle adds a textured white. Paint Grade Maple takes these evenly. Browse all 60 on the finishes page.
Practical Notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry right away. Skip abrasive cleaners, and wipe up standing water near the sink.
Rift cut oak has straight, even grain. Standard white oak is more varied, and walnut shows its natural color shifts. Painted maple stays smooth, so the molding lines read cleanly.
Simple hardware suits the flat panel best: a slim pull or a small knob. Let the molding carry the detail.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts from $1200/LF, cabinetry only. To compare profiles, see door styles or contact us.
