The Door

Bridgehampton is a framed inset door in walnut, part of the TKG Inset collection. A fine bead runs along the inside of the frame, around a flat recessed panel.

The door sits flush within the cabinet frame, leaving a crisp reveal on every side. Full overlay is available if you would rather the frame recede.

In a room, it reads as furniture. The bead supplies traditional detail, and the flat panel keeps it calm enough for transitional spaces.

Where It Works in New York and Long Island

Pre-war apartments with plaster walls, picture rails, and original casings suit a beaded door. So do brownstones, where a parlor-floor or garden-level kitchen should feel related to the millwork upstairs.

On Long Island, it belongs in center-hall colonials and older shingle houses. In a new build, it adds the warmth and detail that drywall and recessed lighting lack. In a loft, it balances concrete, steel, and large glass.

Choosing a Finish

All seven finishes are stains, so the walnut grain stays visible. Storm, Wheat, Umber, and Natural read as dark wood. Moss, Bourbon, and Chestnut sit in the medium range.

Go darker in rooms with generous daylight, where the bead will catch highlights. Choose medium tones for narrow or north-facing kitchens. Review all seven on the finishes page.

Practical Notes

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth and dry right away. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which dull a stained surface. Walnut is stained rather than painted, so grain varies from door to door, and that variation is part of the appeal.

Unlacquered brass, aged bronze, and blackened steel suit the bead. Keep pulls modest so the frame remains the detail.

Lead time is 10–14 weeks, with pricing from $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Browse other door styles or contact us to see a sample.
