Prospect in every finish
The door
Prospect is a beaded inset door in rift cut white oak, part of TKG Inset. The door sits flush inside a furniture-grade face frame. A small bead traces the opening, and a flat recessed panel fills the center.
In a room, it reads as joinery rather than cabinetry. The bead catches light at its edge, the panel stays quiet, and the straight rift grain runs cleanly through the frame. Full overlay is available if you want a different reveal.
Where it works
Pre-war apartments and co-ops, with plaster walls, picture rail, and original trim, are a natural fit. So are brownstone parlor floors in Park Slope or Cobble Hill, where a kitchen should sit comfortably beside the moldings.
On Long Island, it suits center-hall colonials and Tudors. In a new build in Miami or Manhattan, it adds the detail that drywall and recessed lighting tend to lack. In a loft, one run of it softens brick and concrete.
Choosing a finish
Light tones keep a small kitchen open: Frost, Ash, Heather, and Snow. Moss and Chestnut sit in the medium range and suit brownstone woodwork. Storm and Charcoal are the dark stains, and they give a pale stone counter something to push against.
These are stains, so the grain stays visible. Those eight are only a few of the 17 on offer, and you can see the full range at finishes.
Practical notes
Clean with a soft, damp cloth and dry right away. Skip abrasive cleaners, which can dull the surface.
Rift cut grain is tight and linear, so expect a calm, consistent figure from door to door. The bead is a fine detail, so choose slim hardware that leaves it visible: small knobs, cup pulls, or thin bar handles in brass or blackened bronze.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. To compare profiles, see door styles, or contact us to talk through your kitchen.
