Lenox in every finish
The Door
Lenox is a framed, inset, furniture-grade door with applied molding around a flat recessed center panel. The molding casts a fine shadow line, and the flat panel keeps the profile calm. Set flush in its frame, it reads as a built piece of furniture rather than a box with a front.
Full overlay is available when you want the same profile with a different reveal. It comes in Paint Grade Maple, White Oak, Rift Cut White Oak, Quarter Sawn White Oak, Cherry, Hard Maple, Walnut and Red Oak.
Where It Works
This door suits traditional and transitional rooms. In a pre-war apartment, it sits comfortably beside plaster moldings and original casings. In a brownstone, it handles tall ceilings and parlor-floor proportions well.
On Long Island, it fits colonials and Tudors without looking costumed. In a loft, painted or darkly stained, it softens brick and steel. In a new build, it gives a plain envelope some architectural depth.
Choosing a Finish
Paint shows the molding most clearly. Dune is a warm off-white, and Ink is a deep black that turns the profile graphic.
For stain, Rift Cut White Oak Chestnut and Hard Maple Saddle are medium and warm. White Oak Driftwood and Rift Cut White Oak Heather run light and quiet. White Oak Storm and Rift Cut White Oak Navy go dark without hiding the grain. Browse all 87 on the finishes page.
Practical Notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry right away. Skip abrasive cleaners.
Painted doors keep the joints and molding crisp. Stained doors show their grain: rift cut runs straight and even, quarter sawn carries flecks, and cherry and walnut deepen with light.
Knobs, cup pulls and latches all suit the profile. Keep hardware modest so the molding stays the detail.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks, from $1200/LF, cabinetry only. See the full TKG Inset collection, compare door styles, or contact us.
