The Door
Clinton is a shaker door from the TKG Inset collection: a square-edged frame around a flat recessed center panel. There is no ornament, and the restraint is deliberate.
It is built inset, framed and furniture-grade, and it can be specified as full overlay or beaded inset. The beaded option adds a fine shadow line around each door. In a room, the door reads as calm and tailored, plain enough for transitional spaces and structured enough for traditional ones.
Where It Works
Pre-war apartments suit it well. Beaded inset sits comfortably beside plaster walls, deep casings and herringbone floors.
In a brownstone, tall cabinetry in walnut or cherry holds its own against parlor-floor ceilings. On Long Island, it fits colonials and center-hall houses. In a new build, it gives a transitional kitchen some architectural weight. In a loft, full overlay in a painted finish softens a hard industrial shell.
Choosing a Finish
The door comes in Paint Grade Maple, White Oak, Cherry, Hard Maple, Alder, Walnut, Red Birch and Red Oak. Across them there are 77 finishes, and you can browse the full range on our finishes page.
Start with the mood. Pearl is a quiet off-white, Silver a soft gray and Ink a deep black. For wood, Hard Maple Natural stays light, while Walnut Bourbon, Alder Bourbon and Cherry Saddle give a medium, warm tone. Hard Maple Truffle goes darker.
Practical Notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth and dry straight away, especially where the frame meets the panel. Paint over maple gives a smooth, even surface. Stains let the grain show, and cherry deepens in tone as it is exposed to light.
Simple hardware works best: slim bar pulls, round knobs or cup pulls. Beaded inset also pairs well with latches.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks, with pricing from $1200/LF, cabinetry only. See more on the door styles page or contact us to request a sample.
