Bowery in every finish
The door
Bowery is a slab door with a slab center panel. It has no bead, no raised field, and no shadow line beyond the reveal. It belongs to the TKG Inset collection, so it is framed and furniture-grade, sitting flush within the cabinet face. Full overlay is available when you want one continuous plane instead.
Rift cut white oak runs its grain in tight, straight lines. In a room, the door reads as calm, linear, and architectural. The wood does the work, not the profile.
Where it works
It suits modern and transitional kitchens, and it adapts well to the housing here.
In a pre-war galley, the straight grain keeps a narrow room orderly. In a brownstone, it gives a parlor-floor kitchen a restrained counterpoint to plaster moldings and original millwork. In a loft, a long run of slab doors holds its own against brick and steel. New-build condos in Manhattan and Miami gain warmth without losing their clean lines, and Long Island renovations can use it to update a plan without fighting the architecture.
Choosing a finish
All 17 finishes are stains, so the grain stays visible. Frost, Ash, and Smoke are the lighter tones. Wheat stays close to natural oak. Moss sits in the middle. Umber, Storm, and Black Coffee go dark and deepen the grain contrast.
Light tones suit small or north-facing rooms. Darker stains work well in large, bright spaces. See the full range on the finishes page.
Practical notes
Wipe with a soft damp cloth, dry right away, and follow the grain. Because oak is open-pored, the grain shows through every stain. Expect texture, not a painted surface.
Slim bar pulls, finger pulls, and edge pulls all suit a slab face. Keep one style throughout, since the door has little else to compete with the hardware.
Lead time is 10–14 weeks. Pricing starts at $1200/LF, cabinetry only. Compare other door styles or contact us to request a sample.
